Our last OBE evening focusing on fraud and regulation was a true success. And we are thrilled to see our London community growing at a rate of knots as FinTechs and incumbent financial institutions build new technologies and spot fresh opportunities created by Open Banking.

But we are not stopping there. This Thursday, 20 June we’ll be meeting again to discuss what we need to do to get APIs to the high quality that is required to roll out this revolutionary initiative quickly, smoothly and efficiently.

We will gather around “the industry camp fire” to talk, debate and stir your thinking to come up with great solutions to existing issues. And to help our discussion, we’ve invited a couple of esteemed and highly qualified industry experts.

So let me begin our series of introductions with Gavin Littlejohn who serves as Chair of the Financial Data and Technology Association (FDATA), the global industry group for financial services companies working to promote Open Banking and best practices. In this role, he successfully led the campaign to have account aggregation added to the PSD2 regulation in 2013. Through his work at FDATA, Gavin has become a leader of the Open Banking movement and campaigns for common technical standards and consistent liability models to be rolled out across the globe.

Having been appointed Convenor of the Fintech Stakeholder Group of the UK Open Banking Implementation Entity in 2016, Gavin now works with a number of other markets on the same mission.

Gavin is a fintech entrepreneur with a plethora of experience in developing innovative solutions to mass-market problems and is renowned as the founder of Money Dashboard, a free online personal finance management service, where he served as CEO until 2015.

Gavin will be joined by Tim Werkhoven from Account Technologies which employs processes and algorithms to better underwrite credit using bank transaction data.

Tim has spent his career at the intersection of technology, finance and public affairs. In his most recent role as director of public affairs and risk management, Tim is developing risk management, corporate governance and compliance functions. In his previous role at Account Technologies he worked with stakeholders and regulators in the UK and EU on retail payments, PSD2 and RTS issues.

Tim is also a member of the Industry Standards Coordination Committee, a lead reference group for helping Pay.UK deliver leading payments infrastructure and standards for its consumers and businesses.

Tim set up his own consultancy business, TT Werkhoven Ltd, in 2013 to help businesses navigate complex regulations. His work included consulting on

Open Banking API specs, developing a public affairs strategy for a professional body of actuaries and providing insights on Brexit.

Join Gavin, Tim and our fantastic community this coming Thursday, 20 June hosted by Equinix, the home of Open Banking Excellence, at 11 Devonshire Square, London, EC2M 4YR.

We look forward to seeing you.

The London Calling Team,

HelenMarieDom and Tatyana
