Ladies and Gentlemen, Open Banking Pioneers!
We really look forward to welcoming you all this Thursday, 18 July to our Prepaid & Fintech evening. As you know, it will be our last time together before ‘school is out for summer’, so we thought now is a good time to dial up the Open Banking debate!
At the beginning of the year David Head from Mastercard compared our preparations for the September deadline as getting ready for school. Last month we dug a bit deeper and started a quality discussion, the highlights of which you can see on our website.
This month is promising to be even better, and we have just the line-up to end this season on a high!
Clive Williams
Meet Clive Williams, Director of PSG International Ltd (PSG), a boutique consultancy focusing on the FinTech and payments sector. PSG’s Project and ‘Interim Management’ solutions help International, European and UK businesses seeking payments knowledge and resources.
After holding senior roles in the payment sector since 1977 with companies like First Data, PrePay Solutions, PayPoint and SVS, Clive formed his own Company in 2011. PSG initially focused and serviced the prepaid verticals and has since broadened its offering, and currently works in other specialised areas such as APMs, Digital, Open Banking payments (PISP), as well as prepaid globally.
PSG’s client list includes the likes of Center Parcs, Tesco, WHSmith, Kingfisher Group, Primark, Etam, Lego, Esprit and Harrods.
Jim Wadsworth
Clive will be joined by Jim Wadsworth, Senior Vice President, Open Banking at Vocalink Mastercard. Jim has run businesses for market leaders such as NatWest, Barclaycard, JP Morgan and Vodafone in his more than 20-year career in the payments industry.
He has also led start-ups such as Simpay and has a strong track record of successfully building, launching and managing innovative payments products and businesses.
He joined Vocalink in 2012 and until early 2019 led its core UK business, alongside which he developed and launched strategic propositions across areas such as alternative payments (mobile, digital) and data insights (Vocalink Analytics). He is now leading Mastercard’s new Open Banking business.
Carol Heath
We are also delighted to have with us Carol Heath, VP Partner Relationships at Konsentus. Carol has 40 years of experience in the financial services industry, much of which has involved managing strategic partnerships. She has held senior positions in business development at Visa Europe managing debit and prepaid card portfolios.
Carol is now helping to drive the Konsentus TPP and regulatory service through key partnerships. Konsentus provides financial institutions with regulatory checks of third-party providers (TPPs), eIDAS Seal Certificate checking and consent and preference management services through a SaaS platform. This enables them to comply with EU regulations and provide open banking services to their customers while ensuring they are only providing data to TPPs who are regulated, and have obtained the customers “explicit” consent to use their data.
For those of you who will be attending for the first time, we have a place around our camp fire reserved for you, with our trademark pizzas, healthy snacks and drinks, at Equinix – The Home of Open Banking Excellence. If you’ve not already registered, here’s the link.
We’d love you to join us.
