Before the dream of a global Open Banking ecosystem becomes reality, we must overcome one major challenge.

Currently, Open Banking begins and ends at borders. Interoperability between national or regional ecosystems is simply not possible – for now. 

We’ll be looking at ways to address interoperability, allow data to flow freely across borders and build a truly global market. 

The opportunity is huge. So are the challenges. 

We’ll be discussing how to tackle the interoperability challenge, considering the future of Open Finance around the world and exploring whether global standards could ever become a reality – as well as the UK’s potential role in drawing up these international rules.
